Afrocentrique is a French based business who’s aim is to help develop, promote and sustain the African wood carvings, arts and crafts industry of Malawi.These African wood carvings are all sourced locally in Malawi or Kenya and we pay an agreed price for the African wood carvings at the time of collection. All these African wood carvings have been hand crafted by skilled craftsmen. Our African wood carvings consist mainly of African arts, African masks, African gifts, African drums, African jewellery, African sculpture, African carvings, African furniture and African pottery.In addition to the African wood carvings business we have other projects within Malawi. 5% of Afrocentrique’s net profit will be donated to the ‘Centre for Appropriate Technology Malawi’ to assist them with their rural infrastructure development projects.We also have a project which enables us to assist the ‘aids orphans’ of Malawi. These orphans hand craft African jewellery made from wire and beads which we purchase directly from them at a fixed price paying cash at the time of purchase. This jewellery we then sell to you. If you sell African wood carvings reafforestation is an issue. Our products are made from timber felled under licence from the forestry department and we are looking at ways to improve indigenous forest management. This year we have sourced a new product African pottery. This pottery is hand crafted in Malawi by Dedza Pottery using locally sourced raw materials and great care is taken not to cause environmental damage.
